Overview
We all know that video is one of the most powerful media formats available – if you don’t, you should. The fact is that video hits us on all fronts – audio, video, emotional – it’s a terrific way to create branding, loyalty, intrigue and exposure for your site.
The problem, however, is that video is a hit or miss solution for most. Meaning that if you do it right it can be a huge hit, but if you do it wrong it can be an enormous flop and waste of time. That “downside” is what, honestly, has kept us from doing more videos ourselves. We have never endorsed or even reviewed any of the video creation courses out there because, up until this point, we’ve really not found anything that we felt compelled to put our name on. But with Video Traffic Academy, that’s all changed.
Most video training courses out there are either far too technical and focus on just the techie details of how to upload videos, how to convert videos, etc… or they focus on some gimmicky trick, or they’re just a low-quality beginner level video info that really doesn’t offer much “meat”. The fact is that video is a complicated subject. There are technical aspects of it that you do need to understand and master. You need to know the details about where to upload, how to film, what resolutions to use, what format to use and many other facts. But a successful video is not just the result of following a set of “technical” steps. In fact, it’s as much art as it is technology – in fact, much more so.
What you’ll get out of this course is not just techie stuff about how to upload your videos or convert them or what the best gear to use is. Now don’t get me wrong, you will get all of that too, but the missing element in video creation is really going into the details of what does and doesn’t work and more importantly “why”.
What we like about Video Traffic Academy is that it does just that. First off, the creator is a true film buff – not just an Internet Marketer trying to make some cash off of videos. So he truly knows what works and why. I like that he also does a lot of case study demonstrations of videos and what is successful about them so you can model that success.
The best part about it is that the content is presented in just the right level of detail. You don’t have to have a bunch of fancy equipment to get great results and the author teaches you just that. Remember, it’s not the technology that makes a great video – it’s the level of engagement and emotional appeal that you create.
Even if you’ve never made the leap into video because of a fear of being in front of the camera, the author will give you some great strategies. He gives you tips and methods to help you get over this fear and if you really don’t want to do that, then he’ll provide you some strategies to design your videos where you don’t have to be in them. About the Course
Video Traffic Academy is broken down into several modules. Each module has a few videos in it about the topic. It starts out with the basics of video in the Video 101 module. This is more than just the technical aspects of video, but rather the complete picture of the purpose of video marketing and how to design your goals effectively with keyword research as well.
Next is Module 2 which is all about Developing Your Strategy for success with video marketing. Remember that this course is more than just training for video creation, but rather, it’s about getting traffic with your videos. So in this strategy module you’ll be taught some of the pillars of success and how to create your own custom strategy for profit and success. The module consists of three videos and focuses on developing your strategy, when and where to post your videos and videos that work.
Module 3 is entitled Creating Killer Videos and is by far my favorite module because it really covers a lot of ground. The first video in this module alone is an hour long and gives several case studies and a lot of detail. The next video in the module is about answering your technical questions and covers the techie basics. In the third module your video production strategy is covered and goes into very specific details – nothing is held back.
Next there are two more videos in this module that go into filming your video and editing your video for success. Again, what’s critical to keep in mind is that all of this is done at a level that nearly anyone can have success with it. No heavy duty editing software of equipment is required. In fact, the less polished approach can produced very good results.
Module 4 is all about optimization of your video. By that we’re primarily talking about optimizing your YouTube channel for the best results. But it’s more than just techie optimization, it’s about optimizing the entire process – including outsourcing a lot of the work. He also covers how to get the same results without having to be in front of the camera.
In this fourth module there is also an entire video dedicated to the ranking factors for video. You’ll also get a lot of examples for channels that work so you can learn from others that are doing it right. This module is packed full of 8 different videos and covers many essentials like uploading, time stamping, annotations, overlays and more.
Lastly is Module 5, Advanced Video Traffic Strategies. In this module you’ll learn what to do to promote your video after it’s uploaded so that you experience better results and get more traffic. He has a 13 step process that he walks you through to really skyrocket your video views and some more advanced strategies.
Summary
Video is by far one of the single most underutilized strategies for traffic building on the Internet and a huge potential win for your business. It’s also a great way to launch a new site or product. With SEO you have to be careful at first with a new site, but video is an option where you can go heavy even from the beginning to help launch your site without causing any scrutiny from Google over too many backlinks, etc…
Effective video is also a huge plus for your site in terms of the user engagement factors that Google looks for such as time on site, return visits, pageviews per visitor and bounce rate. But again, if you do it wrong, you’ll likely get no benefit out of it at all. That is exactly why we feel that trying to do video marketing on your own is like trying to fly a plane blind. The fact is you just don’t know what you don’t know and without the specific knowledge of this powerful media you’re not likely to have a lot of success.
We’ve been very impressed with the course and are looking forward to creating some time and money in our budget to devote to more video marketing ourselves because we believe that we too are “missing the boat” on this one.

Honestly we were really pleasantly surprised to see the pricing on this course. There are other video training courses in the market right now selling for $997 or $497 that don’t have half as much to offer as this $97 course does. I truly feel that it is severely underpriced and that he should be selling it for $297 – it’s that good. I really don’t see how you could possibly not be extremely impressed with this course and get far more out of it that the c-note price point.
There is a tremendous amount of detailed and specific information in this course that will really help you create an effective video marketing and traffic strategy for your site. Beyond the basics or beyond just video marketing, this is about traffic generation and using video to that means. We all know that sales rely on traffic and when you have a brand new site getting traffic can be difficult. This is one strategy that works from day one and can really shorten your launch cycle.
