Link Liberation 2 – A Panda Approved Diet?

Link Liberation ReviewLink Liberation is about to open its doors again and so we wanted to make this post to give you the information as well as our take on all of this and how it dovetails with Panda (more on that later in the post, so be patient). First of all, here’s the link so you can check it out yourself:

Check out Link Liberation 2 here…

What is Link Liberation 2

Now, for those of you who missed out on it in when Link Liberation 2 debuted last Fall, let’s start out with a quick overview. Link Liberation is really all about creating systems for your SEO that free you from the traditional linkbuilding methodology and create instead a self-sustaining system of getting unsolicited links to your site naturally. Link Liberation is run by Dan Thies and Leslie Rohde – two of this industry’s all time SEO greats.

Mike and I have followed Dan Thies and Leslie Rohde for years. They have some of the best SEO minds in the industry and many of the tactics and strategies we practice today come from their teachings – especially their bottom up approach to keyword research. They have been industry leaders for many years and are frequent trend setters in a world of followers. Bottom line is that there are very few SEO people that Mike and I really listen to more than these two.

But Aren’t These Guys Against Linkbuilding?

Now the fact is that many people were actually confused by why we would promote this product last Fall and will likely have that confusion again, so we wanted to really dive into that. The fact is that Dan and Leslie are very much against linkbuilding software and networks – they are very candid about that – and that creates confusion because we endorse many such networks such as Build My Rank, for example.

The reality is that SEO is a complex bugger no matter how you slice it. Like any topic, there are radicals on both sides and then there are some programmatic practitioners in the middle. We tend to be the latter. So let me explain this a bit.

Link Liberation 2 Video…

Article Spinning is another such topic. There are those that absolutely hate it and will tell you never to spin content because it only produces garbage. Others absolutely swear by it and promote it aggressively. Mike and I, however, are “in the middle”. We look at the subject pragmatically and conclude that there are some very valid reasons for article spinning – namely title variation, anchor text variation, link URL variation and linkbuilding network acceptance requirements. Now, there are valid reasons for both of the “radical” standpoints on Article Spinning. Many people don’t do it right and produce garbage content, so that is a legitimate concern. Likewise there are many positive aspects of article spinning as well. As always the truth is usually found somewhere in the middle ground.

With spinning the fact is that if you use it wisely it can help you achieve more links and will allow you to use more linkbuilding tools – that is our pragmatic reasoning for using and recommending article spinning and, more specifically, The Best Spinner. The simple fact is that it saves time and money and produces more links per the same amount of time and dollars.

Understanding Where Link Liberation Fits

With Link Liberation the same argument applies. There are absolute SEO purists out there who’s definition of SEO does not include linkbuilding in any form. They will tell you to write inspiring content and attract new readers that way. They will tell you to provide link bait and encourage readers to link to your content naturally. They will tell you that linkbuilding is gaming the system and that it won’t work and is a waste of time.

Then there is the other side of the argument – the black hat SEO spammers. These use spamming systems that generate thousands and thousands of links via dubious practices that are clearly outside of the bounds of what is acceptable. They generally can produce some amazing results but are short lived and involve very risky behavior that will very likely be dangerous to your site. There are many tools out there that we have not reviewed just because they make it too easy to fall into this category of “spamming” rather than constructive linkbuilding.

So you have an SEO scale – if you will. One the right you have the extremely conservative view that any linkbuilding efforts at all are a bad thing – the “purist” view point. On the left of the scale you have the “spammers” view point that anything that gets a result is valid regardless of risk. Dan and Leslie Thies are pretty close to the “purist” vantage point and Mike and I are more pragmatic about the subject and more “middle ground”. Does that mean that we can’t support or endorse their viewpoint? Absolutely not.

The fact is, we would love to be in a position wherein linkbuilding was not necessary – and that is very possible. Do you think sites like Amazon.com actively engage in linkbuilding? No – they don’t need to. And as you are able to grow within your niche and market effectively you can also get into that level of SEO. A world which focuses more on the content, free tools, link bait, guest posting, branding and other aspects of purist SEO marketing. But it is our belief that while that is a very solid long term goal and one that we should all strive for, there is a more immediate reality for newer sites and that is that they need linkbuilding to propel them to the point where that is even possible.

So, do we practice the principals that Dan and Leslie teach? Yes, we absolutely do and we very much support their work and vision of SEO. But we’re not purists and we’re not radicals. We also believe that linkbuilding also serves a very valuable need in the evolution of your site’s SEO efforts. Over time you want to move more and more towards their approach and away from just linkbuilding to really creating engaging SEO systems which self-sustain your linkbuilding efforts – that is something we are actively working on now on our own sites. Furthermore, Google is getting more and more difficult to game than it was in the past.

Along Comes the Panda

If you’re not aware of it, Panda is the official name of the latest round of Google algorithm changes that were rolled out in the US in February and have created such havoc for so many sites. Panda is notoriously targeting low quality sites via a variety of means but with particular focus on content. In light of Panda, education and growth in more conservative SEO efforts only makes sense and that is exactly why we use and support Dan and Leslie’s Link Liberation. Everything taught in their course is 100% Panda safe and conservative.

Can linkbuilders such as Mike and I support a more purist product? Are you guys just selling out in promoting this for the commissions? Hopefully after reading and following us for awhile you’ll know that we don’t put our name behind a lot of promotions and rarely will endorse a product. We are actively promoting and endorsing Link Liberation because it teaches you where you want to eventually get with your site – a long term strategy that is highly effective and is the ideal for any SEO’er.

Is Link Liberation For You?

Link Liberation is not for everyone. The fact is that we only recommend this course for those of you that are serious about your SEO. If you are dabbling or do not have the time and resources to invest in a serious commitment, well, you should pass. Link Liberation is extremely effective, but it is not an overnight solution. Many don’t have the patience necessary to wait for linkbuilding results to appear (which often requires 90 to 120 days of consistent SEO) let alone the longer term horizon of a product like Link Liberation 2.

It is not designed to be an immediate solution but rather a methodology that you will apply to your entire SEO efforts to have a long term impact on your site. We highly recommend this product, but only if you are willing to put in the work and are ultimately committed to your site for the long haul – this is not for opportunity seekers, but rather for business builders.

Can it work for newbies? Yes, it can. You learn the philosophy and methodology that can lead to long term SEO success. However, the caution is that if you’re looking for immediate results that this is simply not the tool for you. If, however, you’re committed to investing in your SEO education and want to learn the right way to do this for the long haul, Link Liberation is the ideal product for you.

  • This post carries info about link liberation 2.I read the whole post and assume that link liberation create instead a self-sustaining system of receiving spontaneous links to your site logically. Thanks buddy :)

  • If you see Link Liberation as more of an education, if I read your review correctly, how would you stack it against The Ultimate Link Building Dossier?

  • Shucks, too bad i read this post, i was looking into info on to tame the panda (article title in email) and not a promotion article on link liberation…

  • This looks really interesting. With all the new algorithm updates, it seems that most link building services just aren’t working as well anymore. LinxBoss seems to be bringing my rankings down lately and I’m not having much success with BuildMyRank either. I think natural linking is going to be be the real future of SEO.

  • @ Mohamed – there is great information on the topic, if you check out Link Liberation – that is the point. Take it for whats it worth, and check it out – they offer you tons of free information without joining. This isn’t just some promotional post to generate sales for LLI, because there is no affiliate credit being given for the re-open as far as I know – so it is just out there as an FYI for our readers.

  • The Link Liberation videos are powerful… makes me want to rethink my Synnd and LinxBoss strategies. (ouch!)

  • Tim, Don’t worry, Synnd and Linxboss are still working just fine… keep in mind that while we really like Link Liberation it is really a long term effort and is most appropriate to build out over time – especially when you have a site that has proven itself and is making good income and can sustain a long term commitment.

  • Hi Tony,

Most linkbuilding services are unaffected by this update. We are still seeing very good results from both Linxboss and Build My Rank. There are other networks out there that are more geared to game the system and they are not fairing so well, but most of the networks on this site are doing fine even after the Panda update. Networks such as Unique Article Wizard, Article Ranks, Spin Distribute, etc… are all still doing well.

  • Hi Steve,

Yes, Link Liberation is about education, but it also has systems and automation tools as well – so it is truly more than just education. They have created their own software systems to manage the outsourcing of content creation and other tasks that is offered as part of the course. The Ultimate Link Building Dossier is merely an ebook and really covers more of the traditional linkbuilding based approach to SEO. It’s a good course and we do endorse it, but it’s not on the same level as Link Liberation.

    Hope that helps,

    -Troy

  • Hi Troy,

Thanks for the feedback, my thoughts exactly.

What happened to your bonus offer. It was there as a link to the Helpdesk, and then it disappeared. It’s too bad I can’t get it through you guys because I love your site.

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,

We removed the bonus blurb because – to be honest – we didn’t even have time to add an affiliate link to this post initially, nor were we even sure if affiliate was open or not. It was simply cloaked to a straight non affiliate link.

We had initially added the bonus blurb for suture use, because we always love to give away bonuses with everything we promote – but this wasn’t so much a promotion as it was an FYI due to our time restraints.

However, we have now added an affiliate link, so if anyone uses our link, and we do receive credit, we will definitely be offering the same bonuses we did the first time around which were monthlies of our high powered links. We should have prepared better for this, but were just too busy and the reopening snuck up on us. So we wanted to get the information out there, affiliate link or no affiliate link.

If anyone uses our link open a helpdesk ticket, and we will verify that we received affiliate credit and we will work out the bonuses for you.

Thanks and sorry for the confusion on this one,

    Mike

  • I did the free bit of the first Link Lib 2 and bailed out for two reasons:

    - firstly the course seemed unfinished. There were a lot of glimpses, like recommeded plugins that didn’t work, videos that weren’t ready on time etc etc, which left me with the impression that the course was not really finished. Not what I’d expect from a premium priced course. Obviously that should have been fixed by now.
    - secondly I very much got the impression that this system is great if you have one site and you are going for very competitive keywords. I have many small sites and go for low competition keywords.

I suspect many of your readers will be in a similar situation: many smaller websites…

Did you go all the way on the first incarnation of Link Lib 2?

If so can you confirm if LL2 is aimed at people with one (or very few) site(s) and highly competitive keywords or if it is also applicable for people with a large number of niche sites?

    Thanks for your great site!

  • Hey Guys,

Just thought I’d drop you a note to tell you I registered with Link Liberation 2.0 through your affiliate link.

I’ll send a separate email to the HelpDesk as instructed.

Thanks for informing me about this course, I got hold of Module 1 and it looks awesome.

    Steve

  • Hey Steve,

Yep, it shows up… we’ll reply in detail via the helpdesk. Thanks for purchasing through our link and enjoy the course!

    -Troy

  • Hi Anders,

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, we went through the entire course. As you pointed out it did have some glitches the first time around and we tend to agree with you – it should have been a bit more polished prior to release. However, they extended all of their return periods and were very candid about the issues, so I was okay with that. Not ideal, but again, I think they handled it very reasonably.

As for your comment about it being for large sites, well I do and don’t agree with you there. In general I do agree with you but the principals they teach could work on any site. There really is a bigger issue that you’re illuding to here that I think needs to be pointed out. I really feel that the days of the mini-sites are numbered. Google is really not giving small and/or new sites much love anymore and I just don’t think that having a lot of small sites will make much sense for the long term. I think that having larger authority sites is the way to go. EMD’s (exact match domains) and mini-sites targeted to one specific product are very limiting and I’m afraid that in the months to come they will be harder and harder to get to rank.
