Keyword Snatcher Review
Keyword Snatcher is Jonathan Leger’s latest and greatest keyword mining tool that as of yet has not been released. We will be purchasing and evaluating this tool when it is available, so check back for a great Keyword Snatcher 2010 Review and Bonus!
Here’s some info on why we’re excited about it. First of all, you should know by now if you’re following us that keyword research is the most fundamental element of successful Internet Marketing campaigns. SEO and traffic do you no good whatsoever if you don’t have quality keyword research. But keyword research is a very time consuming process and part of it involves your own experience and best guesses. Finding long tails with low competition is the goal, but more important than that is the commercial intent of those keywords – are they “buy” keywords or are users just “browsing” on those keywords. Jon’s tool doesn’t address commercial intent, but rather focuses on pulling a much larger set of keywords for you to look at.
We use both Micro Niche Finder and Market Samurai for keyword research and we highly recommend both – they complement each other well. We use Micro Niche Finder (the new 2010 release of its version 5.0) to get the master list of keywords and then go to Samurai to really drill down on the competition via Samurai’s great SEO Competition view. See the image if you’re not familiar with it. This is an awesome way of quickly looking at your page one competition for a give keyword and seeing all of the pertinent details in one grid view – domain age, page rank, backlinks to the domain and page, pages in the Index and even SEO optimization. Yeah, you can get all that stuff for free elsewhere, but it takes a lot of time – Samurai makes it easy. You can even drill down on it to examine the links of your competitors and their anchor text analysis. And that is just one of Samurai’s modules – it also does rank tracking, keyword research, and much more.
So, back to Keyword Snatcher. While we haven’t reviewed the product yet, here’s what it does. It goes out to Google, Yahoo and Bing and grabs the keywords through their research tool. Now, so far nothing you can’t do on your own. But here’s where it gets interesting. Keyword Snatcher then goes through them recursively looking for alternate keywords and then filters those to a subset that have your desired keyword phrase in them. Exactly what and how are not spelled out, of course, but this is what it appears to be doing. Now, you could do that yourself, but it would take an extra hour to maybe three or four hours to do depending upon the number of results to go through and it would be extremely tedious to manually filter out duplicates, non-related keywords, etc…
This will give you a much larger list of keywords to work with. Keyword Snatcher also will show you the search engine that the keyword phrase was found in. This is useful as well because clearly keywords that show up in all three are better than ones that only show up in Bing, for example. One of the neat facts that we have known for a long time and Jon confirms this, is that Google’s search numbers for very low traffic volume keywords are not accurate at all. In the Keyword Snatcher demo video Jon shows a phrase that supposedly only gets less than 10 global searches a month and yet when he set up a PPC campaign for that keyword it actually got 5 impressions in one day just in the US and Canada alone.
So why are we excited about this tool? Well, the simple fact is, the more longtails to analyze the better and anything that “automates” the tedious process of digging up keywords is a welcome tool from our standpoint. If this works as advertised, it would make a great “first pass” tool to use to get a huge list to start out with. Then feed it into Micro Niche Finder for refinement and then ultimately to Market Samurai for some keywords that you may need to perform in-depth analysis on.
We’ve been very impressed with the quality of Jonathan Leger’s The Best Spinner product and more so than that, his support for the tool. It has had numerous updates and improvements – some at our direct suggestion via the forum. That is very encouraging to see – a vendor that “listens” to his users and we’re very eager to get our hands on the final Keyword Snatcher product so we can give you a more complete and thorough review.

IMO anything produced by J Leger is going to be good and that includes the KW Snatcher. If you set this program to to a “deep search” for your key word it goes through Google, Yahoo and Bing and returns 100′s of obscure key word phrase results that you would never find if you use Google’s key word tool. Great for PPC advertising because I’ve found that most of them can be had for .05¢ a click.
