We’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about Build My Rank versus Linkvana and how the two products stack up against each other, so we thought it was time to add a detailed comparison of the two here. The first thing to always consider when comparing two different article submission software products or services is “are you comparing apples to apples”? For example, it doesn’t make sense to compare two products that are in a different tool or service category. Both Linkvana and Build My Rank are private blog networks of medium to high Page Rank sites so they are definitely competitors and a good basis for comparison. In a nutshell Build My Rank could best be described as THE Linkvana Alternative.
The reason we say that is that Build My Rank offers very similar features as Linkvana, though a smaller feature list, and at a substantially discounted price. Linkvana sells for $147 and Build My Rank sells for $59 – but don’t stop there. There is a reason for the difference in price (isn’t there always?). Linkvana is a very mature product and boasts a larger, more robust network, though exact numbers are not stated by either company. Linkvana also does several things that Build My Rank does not do (yet anyway). For example, Linkvana maintains a separate network for their articles as opposed to their posts. If you don’t know the terminology, Linkvana allows you to submit 100 word “posts” with one link in them or “articles” which consist of 250 words with 3 links allowed. The interesting fact is that when you publish an article with Linkvana it doesn’t go on the same blogs as the posts – they are put on a separate network. The reason that this is important is that less people use the article network and so that network is sort of a hidden gem right now. Your articles will stay on page #1 of those blogs longer and have more impact.
Advantages of Linkvana Over Build My Rank
Linkvana also has some other features that Build My Rank does not. For example, Linkvana recently added Social Bookmarking as a service as well as the ability to submit to several article directories. While neither of these features is groundbreaking, they do offer additional value for the higher price tag. Another claimed benefit of Linkvana over Build My Rank is that supposedly (not sure how you can really confirm this other than to take them at their word) as you become a seasoned user of Linkvana they will, over time, give you better placements on less used and higher page rank blogs. Again, that is the claim – not sure how you can really test that theory.
Advantages of Build My Rank over Linkvana
Well, it’s newer. While that may not seem like an advantage at first glance, it truly is. Fewer people use Build My Rank and so you get very good results with it because your posts stay on page #1 for a longer time before scrolling off and turning into PR0 posts. The fact that fewer people use the network (for now, anyway) is a big competitive advantage and one of the principal reasons we are so pleased with it. One other thing that is very nice (and brand new) is that Build My Rank is allowing multiple users to access your account with limited privileges so that you can have a VA do the writing and submissions for you. That is a truly novel concept and we applaud them for it.
All The Other Stuff
The Content
Comparing Build My Rank and Linkvana you must also look at the content side of the equation. For Build My Rank you are required to submit 150 word posts for one link, whereas for Linkvana you only are required to submit 100 word posts. Both offer “articles”, or larger posts with more links as well. As discussed above, for Linkvana these are 250 words with 3 links. For Build My Rank they simply allow you 1 link per every 150 works. So if you want 3 links, you submit a 450 word article. If you want 2 links, you submit a 300 word article. These differences may not seem that big, but you have to weigh the cost of content or the time you spend to create that content into the equation of total cost of ownership. When you do you will find that the pricing is not nearly as divergent as it appears at first glance.
Links to Your Links
Build My Rank is working on building links to your links, meaning they will build links to the posts you place in their network, this helps in not only getting your posts indexed faster, because they already do index very quickly, it will add more juice to the posts thus giving you a higher quality backlink, they provide high quality backlinks as it – so this makes it that much better.
Conclusion – Build My Rank or Linkvana?
There is no clear “winner” in this comparison. The two products, while similar, are divergent enough to cater to different people. Personally, we use them both and like them both. We have been very pleased with the performance of Build My Rank and give it one of our highest endorsements. One other note is on customer service. Both of these companies offer extremely good customer service. We have used both Linkvana and Build My Rank customer service on several occasions for various questions and to test them out.
