Linkvana Articles, Directories and Bookmarking – Review Update

We constantly go back and look at our reviews as things change, products are enhanced and new features are introduced. One of the things that is not so new, perhaps, but yet still something we wanted to discuss further was Linkvana Articles as well as their recently released Bookmarking feature.
Linkvana Articles
There are many new competitors to Linkvana these days, however, Linkvana still remains a staple for our personal toolset and a very strong part of our linkbuilding campaigns for good reason – it works. One of the best features that we have found is the use of Linkvana Articles. Most people are familiar with the 100 word “Posts” that Linkvana is famous for. You write 100 word mini-article or post and insert one link and that’s all there is to it. For most people, that is as far as they go with Linkvana. However, some time back, Linkvana also introduced Articles.
They work the same way that the posts do, only their length requirement is 250 words. Now, the beauty of it is (as I let this cat out of the bag) that because of the increased word count *most* people do not use them, they just stick with the 100 word posts because they are easier and faster. However, that would be a mistake for a couple of reasons. First and foremost is that you actually get more links per word count with the articles than you do with the small posts because you can insert three (3) links into a 250 word article as opposed to just one in a 100 word post. So, while you have to write 2 1/2 times more content, you get 3 times as many links – a good deal. But it gets better. The little known secret is that Linkvana publishes its articles to different blogs than it publishes its posts to – they are separate networks. The beauty of this is that since very few people are using the articles, they tend to sit on the home page for several days as opposed to the posts which quickly scroll off. This delay on the home page is even better for your linkbuilding and SEO efforts.

Linkvana Bookmarking
Now comes the newest feature of Linkvana which was just recently released – their Bookmarking feature. Now we can’t talk about its effectiveness yet as we have just begun to test it out ourselves, but we did want to let you in on the newest scoop in case you were on the fence about Linkvana. The new Bookmarking feature is a welcome addition. You should know by now that social bookmarking, while not a cure all for SEO, does play an important role. Bookmarking can provide you with more exposure and more potential traffic, however, it is our opinion that you should do it for another reason. The fact is, it appears “natural” to have a certain amount of bookmarks for your site and they are good links to have. Yep. That’s it. We don’t believe that Bookmarking alone is the “SEO Magic Button” that many preach, however, we feel the same way about all SEO techniques. In other words, there is no magic button. Just a lot of pieces to the puzzle that need to go hand in hand for a good quality end result.
Linkvana Bookmarking is pretty straightforward. You choose your package – from $13 (for 25 bookmarks) to $40 (for 100 bookmarks) and fill out some basic information. You will be asked to submit the URL, three different variations of anchor text (that’s important and we’re glad to see that Linkvana varies the anchor text), your email, a description and keywords/tags – that’s it. The rest you leave on autopilot and let the Linkvana Bookmarking gods take over.

Linkvana Article Directories
While few will use Linkvana just for this purpose, we realized that we have not talked much about this additional feature that Linkvana provides – article directory submission. Now, the list of directories is minuscule, but honestly, we’re 100% okay with that because most article directories are a waste of time anyway and Linkvana does cover some of the big ones – EzineArticles.com, ArticleDashboard.com and GoArticles.com. So, if you’re looking to just occasionally publish on some of the top directories as well, you’ll not need a separate tool – Linkvana can do it for you.

I left Linkvana for a few months for the alternative site Build My Rank. Their system and interface is easy to use however, their blog network does not seem to carry much weight. So with that, I went back to Linkvana after hearing about their new features and I can honestly say that the article feature makes the high price more justifiable.

That is interesting that you say that, we have found it to be the exact opposite. In fact we have seen many more high PR posts from BMR then we have Linkvana. But Linkvana does have the article network.
