Build My Rank Review

** UPDATE – BMR IS CLOSED

Overview

Is Build My Rank the best Linkvana alternative? There are many blog networks out there today – it seems like more and more are coming online all of the time – that’s great for today’s Internet marketer. It seems that 2010 is the year of the blog networks, as several new ones have emerged on the scene. When is more options a bad thing? Build My Rank is very similar to Linkvana and other such blog networks. To compare Linkvana versus Build My Rank, it’s easier to start out with their similarities first. Similar to Linkvana, Build My Rank allows you to post small content blurbs called “posts” which each containing one link. Also following in Linkvana’s footsteps, Build My Rank does not have support for spun content and it distributes your content to its proprietary network of PR1 thru PR7 sites. It appears clear that Build My Rank has purposely positioned itself to be a strong Linkvana alternative. At this point it appears effective, but only time will tell if it can provide the same quality in the long run. Check out the above Build My Rank video and you’ll see it is very similar.

Spin Away

Unfortunately, Build My Rank does not allow you to directly input spun articles and have it generate versions on demand (along the lines of what MyArticleNetwork and SEOLinkVine do). Their reasoning is that they do not want any spammy content and no duplicate content. Oh what we would pay for one of these blog networks to actually allow you to post unlimited high quality spun content… Thus far only Backlink Solutions allows you to spin, but it’s capped at a fixed number of links per day and the interface is cumbersome to use.

The Structure

When looking at Build My Rank vs Linkvana you will see that they both have an elegant simplicity to them. Much of the interface is very similar and the functional differences are small and subtle. One nice feature that BuildMyRank has that Linkvana does not is the ability to define arbitrary groups or projects. In Linkvana a project is defined at the domain level. So, if, for example, you have a client that has 5 domains that you’re doing SEO for, in Linkvana you will have five separate projects. This doesn’t seem like a big deal, but for power users like us with dozens of clients and many, many more (yes, I’m being vague) of our own sites the interface can get very “cramped”. BuildMyRank allows you to create an arbitrary grouping that can house any number of domains and is in a collapsible/expandable list to hide the clutter. Small point, yes, but elegant.

On a direct feature by feature comparison of Linkvana to Build My Rank, you will see that Build My Rank requires 150 words per post, whereas Linkvana only requires 100 words. However, Build My Rank allows you to create longer posts and permits one link per 150 words. This is essentially matched in Linkvana via their “articles” as opposed to “posts”. The Linkvana network is comprised of PR2 thru PR5 sites (according to their sales page). In reality we’ve seen many of our links end up on PR1 sites and a few on PR0. Now, in all fairness, PR is changing all the time, so this is the exception and not the rule. With Build My Rank they claim PR1 through PR7 and so far from our limited testing that is what we are seeing (though we’ve not seen anything yet above PR4). Neither of the networks publish information regarding their size, so that is something we cannot compare.

Also, just like Linkvana, you can outsource the posts to them for the price of $2 per if you don’t want to write them. (NOTE: We recommend using our own ArticlesOnTap.com for better pricing on these posts.) They also give you 10 free posts for a trial account so that you can “test the waters”.

Other Features

The interface for adding posts to Build My Rank is almost a carbon copy of Linkvana, including the ability to post in HTML directly (with the embedded links already created as <a> tags). This is the recommended way to do it in our opinion because it is much faster to embed the destination URL’s direction into the content when spinning – oops, did I say that (shame on me) – and have them all output with the links already inserted and just ready to upload. Inserting the links within the interface can be “tedious” at best.

Lastest and greatest news about BMR…
You can follow the long comment thread below as well, but we wanted to highlight a couple of great new features that Build My Rank has just added:

  • Batch UploadJust added! This is absolutely our favorite new feature of Build My Rank and one that NO ONE ELSE is offering – the ability to upload all of your posts in a “batch” process via a simply CSV file. This means that you can purchase your content and have them provide you an export of it into a CSV file which you can upload in one click and post 100 posts or more with a single click of the mouse. No more manual, one-by-one uploads of each post!
  • Links to Your Links – They actively go out and get backlinks for the posts that you make on their site. This is great to get your post Indexed quicker as well as bring additional authority to your post, and thus to your site as well.
  • Support for Restricted User Access – This allows you to create additional users that can access your account with limited abilities – perfect for giving your VA access to make posts for you but not change any account configurations or settings.

While Build My Rank is the new kid on the block we have to say that we have been very impressed by their responsiveness to client suggestions (we’ve made many) and improvements. It’s refreshing to see in an industry that so many just “take, take, take”…

Also, the scheduling of the posts is again very similar to Linkvana. You can choose from the following options: Randon, 1-3, 4-6 or 7-10 per day. Linkvana has a few more options, but that’s being nitpicky – the above are plenty. This is highly recommended – just upload everything at once and then queue it up to release or trickle out for the month. It is much more convenient that trying to “remember” every day.

The Results

It’s hard to say at this point as the product is so very new. We haven’t given it a thorough run through yet so there is no way we can truly evaluate its performance. I *speculate* that it will be on par with Linkvana, but that is pure speculation. It all depends upon the quality and authority of the blogs in their network. We have started a preliminary test with Build My Rank and will report back on the findings in a few weeks. What is certain is that it is just 40% of the cost of Linkvana, if you purchase a membership during the trial, for what appears to be a very similar product. In reality, only time will tell if the quality is on par or not.

UPDATE (6/25/2010) - BuildMyRank continues to impress us more and more as the days go by. We have found our posts on many PR3, PR4 and even PR5 sites and have been very surprised to say the least. We don’t see as many High PR sites from our Linkvana distributions.

UPDATE (1/10/2011) – BuildMyRank still continues to impress us and it is actually the best network around, surpassing Linkvana and the others. We have found our posts on many PR3, PR4, PR5 and even PR6 and PR7, sites and have been very surprised to say the least. We don’t see as many High PR sites from our Linkvana distributions at all, nor do we see the same indexing rate, BMR has a phenomenal indexing rate.

Pricing

As stated above, Build My Rank is cheaper than its closest competitor Linkvana – however, since reopening they have changed the pricing structure around a bit. The base price is $59 a month for up to 5 domains, that is for unlimited posting to 5 domains. The price goes up as you add domains, $79 for 6-10 domains, $99 for 11-20 domains and $159 for 21-50 domains. If you have over 50 domains to promote you have to contact them for custom pricing. The pricing is well worth it in our opinion because BMR provides you with an extremely high quality network and therefore high quality backlinks, and it still allows unlimited links.

  • Wow…. Thanks for turning me on to this guys, this is freakin sweet so far.

  • Signed up for the 10 free links, very impressed with the service so far. I will be joining as paid member shortly, queue up the bonus posts guys.

  • I signed up for the 10 free posts and used them right away, the interface is very easy to navigate. I found some of my posts on the web and I found them on PR2, PR3 and even PR4 sites – so I liked that. Right now I am using Linxboss for my sites because it is hands off and automated but shortly I will be joining as a paid member and using BMR to diversify my links. This place is less then 40% the price of Linkvana for the same service, that’s a huge selling point for me.

  • Hello, I’ve browsed most of your posts on this blog. I think I am going to take the plunge on this one. It’s priced right.

  • Just stopping by guys with a few updates. Over the last few weeks we’ve added individual RSS feed mashups for each post added to one of our sites. Previously posts were indexed within a few days, now in many cases we’re seeing posts indexed in a few hours.

Right now we’re working on options to automatically build backlinks to your submitted content. This will help add extra link juice to your content.

Please feel free to share any feedback.

  • John thanks for the updates, keep them coming.

    Thanks

    Mike

  • Joined the network by Mike’s recommendation, and so far happy with it. Didn’t test it like Linxboss though, since it seemed pretty safe (Linxboss is pure automation and I’m very suspicious of anything that automatic).

The sites range in pagerank and i’ve seen PR2 – PR 4 from the few times I did random searches on Google.

The system is very strict in terms of content they accept, and will try to filter out anything it deems as dupe or spun content.

    A good alternative to Linkvana.

  • Bye Bye Linkvana, I was using Backlink Solutions and Linkvana, I am now going to use Backlink Solutions and Build My Rank for just about the price of Linkvana alone.

  • great experience, dude! thanks for this great post wow…

  • There is nothing that touches these for high pagerank backlinks.

  • Hey all, we’re now fully active on the backlink building to your posts. With each post you submit now, we’ll randomly select 25-75 sites to post links back to your posts. These sites including social bookmark sites like Delicious, Twitter, etc, along with various other web 2.0 type properties.

We’ve also added support for external writers. You can create separate logins for your own writers which gives them selected access to projects to post on your behalf.

    More to come.. J

  • Great! Thanks for keeping us up-to-date and for the information…

The support for backlinking is a great addition and we’re very glad to see that. I’m especially happy to see that you’ve decided to open up the API a little bit and give people the ability to have their VA’s enter posts for them. That’s a great feature and a good “competitive advantage” for you guys as well. :-)

Keep up the good work and thanks for the update!

    -Troy

  • We’re now setting up tracking for whether posts are indexed, and those that aren’t will have additional backlinks built, rss feeds created, etc until they get indexed.

And we’re adding more and more PR4+ domains to boot too.

  • I was thinking about becoming a member but the sudden DOUBLE in price has made me change my mind =\

  • Hi Josh,

I suspected the price was going to go up, in my opinion it was under priced as it was. However, read the pricing section of the review above. If you sign up for the free 14 day trial, and then subscribe to BMR during that 14 day trial period you can still get in for $59 a month.

    Hope that helps,

    Mike

  • Why don’t they allow spinning? I understand not submitting 200 spun copies, but why not have 3 or 4? I think that’s reasonable amount of spinning… :|

  • Sumedh, a couple of points:

    1) it’s harder to get poorly spun content indexed
    2) most users idea of spun content is to run it through something like The Best Spinner, and import it to your system without ever looking at the content, so the result is absolute garbage. With Google so keen on users reporting web spam, that doesn’t interest us. Our goal is to be a long-term link building solution.
    3) spun content is also leaving more of a footprint for search engines to follow

  • Thanks for the great information on this site. BMR is so easy to use. This will be my go-to link builder from now on. Great product!

  • I tried it out. While it seems cheaper on the outside at $60 when you add up the costs of content its more expensive. They require 50% more content than others for unique articles, and they wont allow you to use spun. I went with Backlink Solutions where I can spin my posts and get more bang for my buck. Do the math, Backlink Solutions is the cheapest of them all.

  • I tried the free 10-backlink promotion. I did so with a lot of excitement and high expectations, mind you.

It’s been about two weeks if I remember correctly. The proof that I obtained new backlinks is nowhere to be found. By searching for the title of the content in quotes, you can find it anywhere on the web. I used Google, Yahoo, and Bing to attempt to find something..ANYTHING.

The results: the content was simply not indexed. I found the titles in unrelated pages of other articles or category pages. There was not even ONE instance in which ANY search engine thought the content that was published was significant enough to even include in SERPs.

So I wish I could comment on the service. But all I can say is that I’ve not been able to find the article, and I took this as a good sign to not actually *pay money* for this service.

  • That is shocking Zach, without knowing the particulars I cant actually comment on what happened to you. What I can say is we have found our posts to not only get indexed, but get indexed extremely fast, and we use BMR a lot. I have asked the BMR admin to look into this and hopefully respond here on our site.

    Thanks for the feedback!

    Mike

  • Hi Zachary, I took a look at your account. Let’s set the particulars first:

You added 2 posts on June 27th. One for each project.

First of all 2 posts is hardly indicative of a system’s success. Our indexing rate is about 85% out of the gate. And I looked at both of your posts and 1 is indexed, the other isn’t. So that’s 50% out of a sample size of 2. But the strange thing with the unindexed post is that there are other posts indexed before and after (incl posts made on July 4th) your post on this same site. Was this content all original?

And unlike any other system out there that I’m familiar with, we are actually taking measures to get unindexed content indexed. We start tracking indexing after 3 days, and any unindexed posts receive extra backlinks. While we will never get 100% of posts indexed, because some of the factors are out of our control of course, we’ll damn sure die trying.

  • And Zachary just for the record regarding your comment:

“I found the titles in unrelated pages of other articles or category pages. There was not even ONE instance in which ANY search engine thought the content that was published was significant enough to even include in SERPs.”

These are sites that are backlinking to your posts which only proves that our system is working. Every post has its own RSS feed sent to aggregators and we actively build links to your post thru social bookmarking, blog commenting, etc.

  • Can you confirm the price – is it still $59 when signing up via the above links?

  • Hi Steve,

Click the above links and sign up for a free trial. If you subscribe during your trial period the price is still $59. If you do not sign up during your trial and want to sign up later, say after a month the price is $129. So it’s a substantial savings by joining during the trial period, and of course you do get to try it for free during the trial to decide on whether or not you want to become a paying member.

    Hope that helps,

    Mike

  • Thanks Mike – very impressed with the prompt reply.

    Just a couple of questions:

    1. I am very much interested however I am about to go overseas until the start of August – will I be able to sign up for $59 at the start of August? (probably the 5th August)

    2. I have read that there are around 400 sites in the network. Have you a more up to date figure?

    Many thanks,

    Steve

  • Another quick question:

What would be your top three in order of quality of these link building programs, MAN,linkvana, buildmyrank etc?

    Cheers,

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,

There is no published timeframe on this trial offer at the discounted $59 price. They may remove that at any time, so I’m sorry but not an easy answer there. Regarding their network size, that is also not a published or documented item. These private networks like to keep all of those details to themselves. Now, perhaps John (from BMR) may elaborate with some more specific info, but generally they do not reveal network sizes. Keep in mind, they will fluctuate as well. I know from personal conversations with John that he is “expanding” the network almost daily right now – so I know it’s “getting bigger”…

    Hope that helps,

    -Troy

  • You may wanna check out the Article Submission FAQ for some good info on your question. The reason I say that is that you’re comparing “apples” and “oranges” here. Linkvana and Build My Rank are directly comparable products, but My Article Network is a different type of product altogether. Look at the info on private versus public blog networks…

We use both Linkvana and Build My Rank – they each have their benefits and drawbacks. Look at this post as well: Comparing Build My Rank versus Linkvana.

You may also want to see our Best List

    Hope that helps…

    -Troy

  • Thanks Troy,

It is all very interesting and such a hard choice to make!

Will probably go for buildmyrank when I return from my trip – it looks like John is the type of guy who is happy to answer questions and he is possibly offering the best value.

I am hoping the price stays the same as I could not really afford the higher monthly fee.

Thank you for all of your help.

    Steve

  • Thanks for the reply admin & BMR. The content was not only original, but it was 400 words of content if I remember correctly Feel free to review my account, it’s “zac439″

When I say that the titles wound up on unrelated websites, I mean this was not intentional and not a good thing. Some are foreign websites I can’t read. The rest were links to an article that was cached (and not mine), but had my article’s title in the “New Posts” module for the page. No sign of my actual article ever being indexed.

I decide to give Linkvana a spin until this is sorted out or someone can show me concrete proof the service has worked for them. (And actual proof, not just testimony)

  • Hi Zach,

I don’t have access to your account since it’s not my service, but John at BMR does, since it his service. He stated above that one out of two posts were indexed. I can only go by what you say and he says. The titles on unrelated sites are part of the bookmarking and rss mashups etc they do to get links to your links. I am not sure exactly what proof you are looking for, the proof is in the pudding, you are allowed to post 10 posts to BMR for FREE – you posted two. Their is no better proof than using a system yourself. You only used 2 out of your 10 posts – it doesn’t cost you a thing, why not use the remaining 8 and see what they do for you, basing your decision on two posts isn’t really a good measure of how it will perform for you.

    Thanks for the feedback,

    Mike

  • Hi Zach, I sent you an email yesterday. Please reply to me (or contact me thru the site) if you need help finding the indexed post.

    J

  • Been using BMR for about 2 weeks now and I’m pretty impressed. Posts seem to go out usually in like an hour or two which is good and all of the blogs seem of decent quality. The only thing I care to mention is that so far the majority of the links I’ve posted have been on PR 2 sites. Not complaining, but I read somewhere that the network of sites was on the higher end of the PR rather than the lower. I’ve got about 50 active posts right now and I’d say half of those are on PR 2′s, 15 of them are PR 1′s, 9 of them are on PR 3′s, and just 1 pr 4. I’m hoping to hit some more PR 4′s and a couple of PR 5′s soon. I’ve been posting like crazy trying to hit some of the higher PR sites but nothing yet.

Besides that though, the majority of my posts get indexed quickly. I’ve seen an improvement in SERPS for two of my primary keywords. They were both already on the first page and they’ve moved from #9 to #7 in the 2 weeks I’ve been using BMR. I haven’t stopped using other types of links, but I’m sure BMR has contributed to that upward movement.

Anyone considering this network, I recommend it on price alone. If you do the math, you can get 300 links to your site per month for like $60 bucks. Can’t beat that. Plus they are in content links on semi thematically relevant sites. I would NEVER pay Linkvana prices so I can’t comment on a comparison of LinkVana and BMR, but I’m going to stick with BMR.

  • Hi Peter, we’re really building the PR4-PR6 top end right now, so you should start to see more posts showing up on these. But naturally we’ll never have as many PR5s and 6s as we will 2s and 3s, but rest assured they are out there.

  • Went to sign up today, but it looks like the price increased to $129 a month. Looks like I was just a couple days to late.

  • Whats up Dustin,

You can get in for the $59 price, just sign up for a trial account and as long as you join within the trial period it is still $59 – at least as of today it still is that way.

    Thanks

    Mike

  • One additional point I wanted to make about Build My Rank is that they recently made another user requested improvement and show you the status of your links – whether they have been indexed and on what PR of a site they reside. Now, of course, they don’t show you the site (though they do facilitate you in finding it) as this is a private network. However, you can see that your post landed on a PR3 or a PR2 or a PR4 – or whatever – and you can verify that your post was indeed indexed.

Guys, NO ONE ELSE in the industry does this. This is a great show of faith and disclosure by Build My Rank to show you “what’s behind the curtain” when many of the competitors extend great effort to keep up the “smoke and mirrors”

I was actually surprised when I saw this new feature…

    -Troy

  • At first, I was really skeptical that they’d deliver what they promised they would. I’ve used several services and have been disappointed by practically most if not all of them.

I tried their free 10 links, not really expecting much, but hey they came back with really good quality sites! I signed up immediately and have been getting pretty much of the same quality sites every single month.

  • Loving the feedback guys (and gals)! And just for the record I just happened to check Zach’s account and saw where both his posts were indexed if anyone was still wondering. Our indexing is running close to 95% right now which is crazy. And we won’t stop till the other 5% is indexed as well. Yes, I know I’m insane.

  • Hey Monty, thanks for stopping by…

Actually it makes sense and is common. None of these linkbuilding services use their service on their own domain. If they did, you could use a quality SEO analysis tool like SEO Spyglass to simply reverse engineer their link profile and “discover” their network. Since they go out of their way to keep their network private, this makes a lot of sense…

    -Troy

  • Got a question about your bonus: “If you purchase Build My Rank via our link we will send you ten (10) FREE 150 word Build My Rank posts each month you stay subscribed to BMR.” Do we get to specify the subject/keyword for these posts? Can we change the keyword each month? Anything else you can say about the bonus? Thanks.

  • Hi JumpStart,

About the bonus, you get 10 Free custom created 150 word posts each month you remain a paying member of BMR. They are 100% unique and created just for you for whatever keywords you specify. You can select 10 completely different keywords each month if that is what you wish since they are each custom created – although not recommended. You simply have to email us each month with your keywords. If you give us keywords and url’s we will insert them into the posts and return a CSV file with all 10 posts so you can easily upload all 10 posts to your account in one shot and be done. You will also receive a 10% discount code for ArticlesOnTap.com so you can buy more BMR posts if needed, or anything for that matter, the discount code is for the whole site. I hope that answers your question. Let me know if you have any more.

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • Just an FYI so people don’t think we moderate negative comments. The way our ranking system works is by user feedback. However Monty left very negative star ratings for BMR based on the fact that BMR’s homepage didn’t have PR. That has nothing to do with Ease of Use, Network Size, Price etc and considering Monty doesn’t appear to even a user of the BMR the negative ratings were really unfounded and held no merit. So I have deleted his comment and ranking to preserve the ranking system. I am including his original comment below. Troy answered his question, but also keep in mind BMR is a new service and new site PR changes will come, but I am not sure why that would be relevant to anyone at all. You are buying a service not their homepage, and they offer a no cost trial period. If one truly wants to know what the service can do, sign up and try it prior to passing judgment without usage. We don’t create reviews based on reading sales pages and homepages like some others do, we encourage you to do the same.

On July 27, 2010 Monty wrote:

Why is that the buildMyRank site has a pageRank of ZERO ???
That is not very encouraging, I have to say, I mean for a tool that pretend to help you build a huge amount of backlinks ???
How could they NOT have a PR > 0 ??
Just weird I have to say…

  • Hi Troy and admin,
I chose those ratings without really knowing what to chose only because I thought I was forced to chose something… but today I realized that you don’t really have to.

That said, I am surprised that the admin of this site has access to the list of the BMR’s members….(Geez, so much for your promise of not using my email address…) How does he know I am not a member of BMR?

Troy, I have to say that a PR of zero does not really look good, no matter what the reason is, PLUS even if you were to know what their network is, what can you really do if they have full control on which link receive a nofollow attribute? I mean I am not sure why would they not want to rank #1 in Google for a keyword like “build backlinks”??
Sorry but your SEO spyglass comment is real hard to buy.
Plus if you start building links with them you can SEO spyglass your own site to find our where the BMR links are coming from….

Like I said, PR of zero is pretty weird I have to say again!

  • HI Monty,

First of all, thank you for your feedback – we do appreciate it and your coming to our site.

Just to be *very clear* the admin of this site (me and Mike) DOES NOT have access to the to the list of BMR’s members.
That is private data to which we are not privy. Mike made a typo when he said you weren’t a user, and meant to say that you didn’t *appear* to be a user (I have now corrected that above).

PR0 Monty is NOT suspicious at all… Not sure how much you follow Google and the PR updates, etc… but there haven’t even been any PR updates in several months now. Typically they do them every 3 months or so, but it is LONG overdue at this point. So there are many sites out there right now that should probably have a higher PR but don’t. However, all of my comments were 100% spot on correct. The difference with BMR and the other competitor’s Monty is that it’s new. When Linxboss first came out a few months back it was the EXACT SAME THING and we had people ask us the same question as you did. Linkvana was the same when it came out a few years back. They all initially popped onto the scene without much PR or rankings.

Most of these programs rely on affiliate sales and promotions for their success – not organic search rankings – and so they rarely care much about the SEO of their site. Also, as you pointed out, many do not really want to rank highly for those terms… We have seen this occur several times with new products, so no, it’s nothing weird man…

And yes, you can easily find out the links if you buy – that’s a risk all of these network owners run. The thing is, they randomly distribute your posts so you don’t have direct access to the network so it would take a very long time to find them all… My SpyGlass comment was accurate because if they were building for their own site they would create a one-stop laundry list of their network. In this very competitive online world, it is a tactic used a lot, trust me… in fact we recommend SEO Spyglass for competitive link analysis so you can appropriately plan your SEO campaign based on the needs of your niche…

BTW Monty, if you really want to form a solid opinion of BMR, give it a try! The fact that it’s site is a PR0 is really completely irrelevant to the service it provides. We’ve been using it since it first came out and frankly it is one of the cleanest and most powerful of these networks out there right now. That is what we care about – not it’s homepage PR which has zero impact on the links it creates…

  • Been reading Monty’s comments here. I have the same thinking of being suspicious of PR0 Web sites, but only for SEO companies. BMR is not an SEO company per se isn’t it?

In any case, I found it funny that Monty confirmed that he was not a user.

Let me offer you guys an unbiased opinion. I signed up for their 10 Free Links offer, and was satisfied with the results I got, so I paid the $59/month membership.

What I like is that your posts don’t get buried so soon. It seems like BMR posts to the same blog site only twice in a day, so you get good placement for your money. I wonder if that would change as soon as more people sign up for the service.

Will I leave linkvana for BMR? Probably not yet. I had my test run of their service for June 2010 to July 2010, and back then the sites were more geared towards PR1-PR4.

If they improve on the quality of their sites, maybe it would be a replacement for Linkvana…

  • Admin/Troy -

Can you add some clarity to the ’25-75 Social2.0 backlinking’ to provide link juice to BMR posts? For a non-seo guru, me, in the cheap seat: what does 25-75 links to one 150-word post do? How much more powerful is this link in relatoin to a plain link on Linkvana?

How long do the 150-word posts sit on the front page of the respective websites before scrolling off? An approximate timeframe would be great.

You have a great review service.

  • Hi Queen Jane,

By backlinking to your posts you get two things. #1 They index faster and #2 They get more link juice. A post with backlinks is always better than a post with no links. Just like you are building backlinks to your money site to move it up the ranks and give it more authority, the same is true for your backlinks.

As for how long the posts stay on front page, that depends on which site you land on and how many posts are being sent. I am not sure on the current status, I know when the network was new we saw some posts on front page for weeks – hopefully John from BMR can chime in here and answer that.

    Thanks for the compliment,

    Hope that helps,

    Mike

  • Hi PosterBoy, we’ve been concentrating on the PR4-PR6 side of the network recently and will continue to do so. We’re certainly investing some sizable dollars.

QueenJane, our blogs receive an average of 1-2 posts per day. So posts normally stay on page 1 for 7-10 days. And as our membership grows we just keep plowing the profits back into more domains, so it’ll stay that way. Plus we don’t allow any crap content either, so it’s not like we’re being overrun with spammy posts like so many of the other networks. Some might see that as a disadvantage, but we’ve already got a loyal following of users that appreciate the fact we’re committed to the long-term.

  • I am a customer of BMR, just signed up recently. I am quite happy with BMR, but the acid test is the results. And so far, it’s quite ok, not spectacular. I don’t find my keywords moving up rapidly through Google, but then again, I’ve only been using them for about 3 weeks (I used their free trial).

I hope to see many more high PR sites in the network, and I also hope that the admins will maintain or improve the quality of the sites and maybe introduce thematic sites into the system. Right now I believe all are general sites. I’ve looked at many of them, and their link count doesn’t seem high, and I am not sure if their PR will stay, but of course I hope they will. And do please keep on expanding the network :)

Other than that, it’s easy to use, and affordable. But strict management is the key to keep the network’s integrity. I’ve seen many networks crash and burn after they failed to do that.

    My $0.3

  • I pretty much agree with what you guys have written here, but I have something to add that I didn’t really see here. I was impressed with BMR writers. I ordered 40 posts in early July, and I think they were able to write these in 2 or 3 days. Well written and not too spammy.

  • OK. Just got to say that I notice that all the links built in BMR is never shown in any backlink checker tool at all……

I wonder why…..Can anyone shed some light?

  • Well, I suppose that depends on the tool. But we see them all the time. Try using SEO Spyglass.

  • Hey,

i signed up for the bmr service, I have 4 post,.. when i checked
yahoo site explorer I only see 2 links on 2 sites.

how many links can i expect and how long does it take to show up?

  • would love to sign up for the paid service but, i don want the whole wing and prayer thing. looking for some solid results.

even 10 indexed links per link post would work for me but not 1 link per link post.

any advice, is my expectations too high.

by the way I signed up under your affiliate link.

  • Hi Lin, there would ever only be 1 link per post. Now that doesn’t count any extra links you might get from our link building efforts to your post. Other sites might pick up the post from the RSS feed aggregators for example.

  • @ Lin Hoboken Homes guy

10 links per post – No service gives you that. Your expectations are too high.

  • Hi Lin,

As a few people have mentioned here, you get 1 link per post. That is it. The more posts you create, the more links you will get – it’s directly proportionate. If you are looking to get more links from one post, then you should consider a service such as BLS where you can use 1 spin ready post to send out many variations of it. I am not saying one is better than the other, in fact BMR has the best network of all the networks at the moment. But if content production is your concern, then BLS may be the answer you seek. Check it out here.

    I hope that helps,

    Thanks

    Mike

  • I signed up also due to your offer for 10 free articles. I sent the list to your contact form. Is that where you want the URL’s and article list sent?
What is the turn around time?

Do we get an email that you have received the article request?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,
I use BMR for about 3 weeks and have about 63 articles. but only about 69% being indexed. I little bit disappointed with this. I expect more than that…

  • Thanks for this review guys…I’ve been using BMR for just over a month and am finding it a fantastic tool.

It’s just so clean and easy to use…and most importantly I’m seeing improvements in rankings.

It’s a real steal at $59 month -and I’m looking forward to receiving my first batch of 10 free posts through your link :)

    Thanks again
    D

  • Hey Mike

I’ve been a BMR member for several months now and I have to say that it is great! Got the results I wanted. Now, I’m looking to diversify my links. Do you have other services similar (price too) with BMR? I looked at BLS and Blog blue print but I’m not convinced with the reviews. Article marketing doesn’t appeal to me as well.

    I’ll appreciate your suggestions.
    Jake

  • Hi Jake,

Well, you mentioned two of them – the closest from a price stand point is Blog Blueprint, and BB allows spun content, so you get more bang for your content buck – the same goes for BLS. Of course there is Linkvana for a higher monthly fee. You did mentioned you didn’t want to do article marketing so I would recommend you take a look at Linxboss or Backlinks Ninja, which is basically hands off and automated for you.

    I hope that helps,

    Mike

  • Hi Willson, is your indexing rate still at 69% today? I honestly don’t see how that’s possible given your count of posts. We’re running at 90%+ every month. If you had 5 posts it would be 1 thing, but not with 60 some posts.

For a week or so our indexing script was running behind and I’m wondering if that was the issue.

    John

  • UPDATE: We just created a new post on Build My Rank entitled, Build My Rank – Six Months Later here so check it out…

    Troy

  • Hi, I actually see how many that are not indexed against my posts. anyway, seems there are change, it is now above 90%. from 78 of my post 6 are not index and 14 not check. so about 92%. I hope this getting better.
    Thanks anyway..

  • Hi guys and gals, very happy with BMR.

Sorry if you missed out on getting a trial account before John closed the doors, but send me an email and I will see if one of my trial members are not going to use their account and you might be able to take it over from them.

    http://www.pixelfreeway.com/gd/contact-Pixel-Freeway.html

It’s got to highest quality private blog networks around at the moment. I’m getting a good range of homepage posts, even page rank 6 and 7 :) very cool. Where else can you write a quick 10 minute post and have it displayed on the homepage of a Page Rank 7 site? And who knows what it would cost you to buy that one link.

    All the best, Ian

  • I believe the hype about BMR!

After doing little more than building a small Web 2.0 link wheel and 35 Build My Rank posts, my site got to the 1st page of Google for my targeted keyword in just over a few weeks.

I never expected my ranking to rise so quickly!

Thanks so much for steering your readers in that direction. The results speak for themselves!

    Best,
    Blair

  • Nice post i liked it. I am signed up for their trial period. It seems like they will work well. So who would you recombine for Link wheels? Thanks again for your post.

  • Hi Dax,

We dont create a ton of Linkwheels, but a great tool for that is SENuke. What we tend to do is create the Web2.0 properties once and then build those up with link vs building a boat load of wheels and Web 2.0 sites.

    Thanks

    Mike

  • Nice work here at this review. I signed up for Backlinks Submission and soon i want to go with this BMR from your recommendation. Thanks a lot.

  • Build My Rank is just another scam that just does not work. 6 months later and my articles are still not reporting any backlinks. Sure they were created as unique articles and yes they were published on sites with high PR – BUT – sites that are not relevant to my content that don’t get crawled = result NO VALUE.

There is no value in BMR or any other service that takes your hard earned money and delivers nothing in return.!!

I doubt that you will publish this but here goes…

  • Hi Peter,

A Scam? Really? You stated yourself your posts were published on high PR sites, and BMR has almost a 100% indexing rate. So calling it a scam is about as unfair as I can imagine. Did they not deliver on what you paid for? Because based on what you just said it sounds like they did. So where is the scam?

Looking for links on relevant sites is a complete waste of time, your anchor text is what makes your link relevant. You may want to read this other post of ours:

    http://articlesubmissionreview.com/blog/is-link-relevance-relevant

You have every right to say you are unsatisfied, or that you don’t believe in certain methods, but calling something a scam is pretty strong verbiage when nobody ripped you off.

  • Have you done any testing with Build my Rank vs LinkVana? I just want to know if Build My Rank gives better result as LinkVana has been around a while and I guess they made the software a little bit better than before.

  • articlesubmissionreview.com is full of interesting content!

  • Hi Troy,

I have a question about BMR. Is there any limit on the number of articles submit per day? And other question is what is the per day distribution rate for an article.

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

You can do up to 10 posts a day per domain. Not sure what you mean by the second question. Each article you submit gets posted to 1 site. That is it. That is your distribution rate. This isn’t spun submissions like MAN, AMA, UAW etc. So if you want 100 links from 100 sites, you would submit 100 posts, and you can do up 10 posts a day per domain.

    - Mike

  • Great article, I think I’ll check BMR out, once I get my funding. Thanks.

  • Wonder why did you delete my comment without answering my questions hmm..

  • @Bryan – what question was that? We don’t delete comments – more than likely your comment wound up in our spam folder and was never posted on the site. When you first comment YOU see it, but it is not actually posted on the site until it is approved, so while you may have thought you left a comment on the site – it was never posted nor seen by us, or anyone for that matter. Since we receive anywhere from 300-500 spam comments a day – we cant possibly filter through them – so all comments marked as spam get deleted. That being said post your question again, and if you don’t receive a response and it is something important feel free to ask us via our helpdesk at http://ctcsupport.com.

    Thanks

    Mike

  • What’s your take on BMR and the other blog networks after the Panda update? I’ve heard that anything less that 400 words is a waste of time and article sites, (which is what these blogs basically are), got slammed… your thoughts?

    Thanks :D

  • Hello, I’m very new to SEO and was a little intimidated by it since I didn’t quite understand it, but recently Ive been doing non-stop reading and have progressed to an extent. I’m more into the selling of products, but I sell actual products and not information. Before I used to sub work out to India and I have mixed feelings about some of the work done. I really want to try to do this myself and I am serious about it. I am not afraid to work and put the time in. I really would like your suggestions of what you think I need to really do this thing and get solid SEO rankings. I’m not looking to buy every single program this minute cause there is no way I could learn and do all of them to start. I believe this is a process and I need to start a specific way and then continue to grow once I grasp more of the concepts. What I was tending to think was the following: BMR (then I would hire out writers and Id focus on submissions), Article Demon, AVR, The best Spinner, and Market Samurai. Now if some of these are repetitive and are not needed to start as of yet, please let me know. SEO is extremely important to me but I only have 1 site to focus on at this time, sure Ill grow later but the focus is on one single site now. I know I’ve wrote a lot here, but it appears everyone on here is more specialized in this matter than I, and I will value all responses. Thanks for all the info and thanks for this site.

  • Why would I choose BMR over something like Article Demon? I am having trouble deciding which to use and I dont know that I truly understand how these work differently. Can they be used together as well? Which one to choose if only choosing 1? I want articles and backlinks to my site. I already have a tool to help me write unique content but now I need to get them submitted and backlinked. Help? I’m new to this…

  • @PreeaJ

They are two completely separate tools you are trying to compare. Check out our FAQ that may help you: http://articlesubmissionreview.com/article-submission-faq#newbie

  • how come you guys never mention the panda update with these things?

    Thanks

  • Hi Johnd,

Well we actually wrote an entire book about it:

    http://feedingthepanda.com/

and we have a post that discusses BMR Tips and Panda etc:

    http://articlesubmissionreview.com/build-my-rank-tips-faq

    Thanks

    - Mike

  • From all other tools I prefer BMR. After all, it is so much easier and faster to get 150 word articles than those with 450+ words. And the results are also much quicker to arrive.

  • I use bmr and i have found them to be very good, they are also taking the time to get your links indexed, even if they only get 90% of your posts indexed you are still getting links from there indexing methods. cheaper than linkvana good deal

  • I have been using BMR for about 30 days. Finding it a good service, easy to use. Written my own content and also hired BMR writers for about 10 articles to get an idea of what the style/method of writing or when I have been pinched for time. Articles landing in mostly PR sites 1,2 and 3′s, had a 5 on one article! Yay! Some of my articles in the last few days have been indexed within hours. Nice work. I would recommend this based on my experience to day, they’re doing a great job from my perspective. Have 5 domain account, will likely upgrade to 6-10 option.

  • Reading through there website they are talking of adding pr 6 and pr 7 blogs, have they done this yet and if so what are the chances of our articles showing up on these?

  • I have heard of a few guys that have used this and subsequently had their website hit the sandbox or suffer a penalty.

Google knows about this because it is such a big network!

Try using alternative blog networks that havent been found and brought down by Google.

  • I have used Build My Rank service in the past and I can say that it’s a waist of time. I have submitted around 70 articles focusing on 2 keywords in 2 months. The site was deleted from Google couple of months later.

I don’t recommend Build My Rank if you want to have organic traffic from Google.

  • @RankWarrior – people get their websites sandboxed for many reasons – not because they used BMR, but more than likely because they didn’t know what they were doing and were too aggressive out of the gate. This will happen with anything if done incorrectly, be it BMR, Linkvana, Profile Links, Blog Comments – you name it. So to blame peoples mistakes on BMR is a bit unfair to BMR. We have literally tens of thousands of posts through the BMR network – and haven’t had one single site penalized, sandboxed or anything for it. Thanks for stopping by.

  • @BitDoze – please see my reply above, the same applies to your comment. BMR is the #1 Link building network out there today. And we highly recommend it if you want organic traffic. 70 posts is barely a drop in the bucket – your site will not be deindxed because of 70 links in two months. That’s almost 1 link a day – you should download and read our BMR Best practices guide here:

    http://articlesubmissionreview.com/seo-link-building-tools-best-practices-tips-and-free-downloads

    - Mike

  • I’ve been currently using UAW for a while now and have gained, in some cases, #1 and #2 positions on Google with the option to display more results, for the same keyword, pointing to different pages on my site. Basically dominating the keyword. However, I recently started trying to rank high for keywords without the word “cheap” in the beginning. I own a electronics store and a lot of people type the word cheap in front of what they’re looking for, let’s say, “cheap LED TV”. But ranking for keywords without “cheap” I know is going to be more difficult. My site is PR3 and I doubt Google will penalize me for anything as long as I’m consistently creating links, regardless of how many. I’m really good at what I do. Spinning excellent articles to 80% and higher within a few hours, literally creating 100′s and 100′s and 100′s of unique versions. I need to match UAW with another POWER system. I need you to recommend me something. Maybe another system with a completely different network. I’ve honestly “spammed” UAW’s directories. On most of their directories, I have 1000′s of unique articles under different authors, titles, etc. I’m a link building machine. I need to combine it with another system. I’m smart, so I can write my own content and then spin it. Would another article submission service be good for me while using UAW? Thank you so much. A guy with goals…

  • After using BMR for a while I find that it’s quite effective at producing serps climbs slowly but it gets the job done, nice and easy however, it’s not the best method of link building in my opinion.

The major downsides are you have to break your balls just for a few links when a few high PR AA dofollow links can have x10 the power and take far less time.

Other downside is the rejection of sites, (media) for lack of content even though they have link authority and near perfect rankings with pr8 links pointing at them.

As for being a profesisonal seo and site designer for over 14 years and being able to rank sites in Google in less than 30 days and subsequently being told to “sort your site out” because of Google paranoia for this reason I’m giving it a 2/5.

It’s a good service and does work, but for me there is far better and that’s good old fashioned manual work, faster and quicker results without the hassle.

  • Mike and Troy,

Your 10 BMR posts per month bonus sealed the deal for me. Yours was the best bonus I could find and your website is an awesome resource for article submission reviews. I really appreciate the effort you guys have put in to this website.

Right now, I’ll only be promoting my new Technology review site and some Squidoo lenses but I hope to keep adding domains as I am able in order to take full advantage of BMR and all the other great article marketing resources available.

    Thanks again,

    Stacy

  • Mike B,

I would recommend BMR or Linkvana which has recently been revamped.
    http://articlesubmissionreview.com/blog-network/linkvana-review

    Or our:
    http://automatedlinksontap.com

    - Mike

  • hey mike. If you were to pick one or the other between Linkvana and Build My Rank, which would you choose? I’m on a tight budget, so Build My Rank would be great, but if Linkvana is a lot better, I’ll go with that.

  • And I am mixing the strategy in with AMR and another blog network.

  • BMR is by far the #1 Link Building tool on the market right now. Linkvana is 2nd best now.

  • Hi Landon,

I agree with James. While LV has been revamping and making a strong push to get itself bak to being the top network, it has not caught up to BMR. BMR is our #1 choice at the moment.

    - Mike

  • Hi Mike,

You shouldn’t reccomend to folks BMR anymore since their network has the categories and the archives and the tags set to “no follow” at the time they no-index those pages.
Using nofollow means that you “give a link but you do not vote for it” so, that means that their websites are not trusting their inner pages?
This is an extremely serious factor they haven’t gamed and see yet.
As far as i know, this is very bad.
They could just improve their net instead of putting nofollo tag to their inner pages.
What do you think? I would like to hear your advice since you are an expert in this field.

    Thanks,

    Jolen

  • Hi,

I’ve been using BMR for approx a month now, it’s really amazing how much improvement in rankings my keywords are recieving since using this program.
Highly recommended and great article by the way.

  • I ask a question to BMR admin about domain guideliness and they told me that only english language sites are accepted. This is losing business strategy, most of great websites are multilingual. So, any multilingual website with two or more languages will be not accepted, no matter is site high quality or not. Our company website with about 20 pagerank 4 pages not accepted? Pleeease, dont tell me that website ranked local in top 3 for keyword “seo” is not good :)

So, Mike and Troy: Will be good to say people that BMR network is for English only… and maybe the other private blog networks have better business strategy and will grow faster.

  • @ Landon – Linkvana. Why? I’ve used BMR, and although it’s quality service, it takes far too long to build backlinks. I mean, how many times can you re-write about the same subject over and over again? This is why you need to take one great article, fully spin it using The Best Spinner and use the Top Article Submission Services to submit it to their network. Do this everyday Mon-Fri, 1-2 articles, fully spun, being released to multiple, massive networks. And also use a separate service to build backlinks monthly for your main keyword (One of the same ones you’re targeting within the articles.)

This means you’re most likely going to spend around 4-5 hundred dollars per month, but after 4-5 months targeting a competitive keyword, you’re going to suck in some major cash flow if you have a good money making site, especially is it already has authority and a link scheme built to it.

    Good luck!

P.S. – Be sure to fully understand On-Page SEO to set your site up correctly prior to your backlink journey.

  • I have just started using BMR and have been having some good results. It’s helped me bring some sites back to life that had fallen into the 100+ rankings. My only question with it is how to get the most out of it. Meaning, is it ideal to have 10 posts per link a day, 3, or have them randomly posted? Also, I was reading on another review that someone had better success with 300 word posts… But even with these questions, I still think it’s worth it. I’ll know more after the next 30 days though! :)

  • Hi Lance,

You may want to downloaded our BMR best practices guide:

    http://articlesubmissionreview.com/seo-link-building-tools-best-practices-tips-and-free-downloads

As for having better luck with the 300 word posts, I am not exactly sure why that would be. Some people prefer to use the longer posts to diversify their post size. Personally I would rather send 2 x 150 word posts from 2 different diversified websites and IP’s than 1 x 300 word post form 1 website and 1 IP. More bang for your buck in my opinion. It’s not like BMR has a separate network for 300 word posts.

Now Linkvana, has a separate article network for their bigger posts as opposed to their 100 word posts – so for Linkvana that makes sense, and is something we actually do and recommend – because their article network is stronger than their posting network in our opinion. But that is not the case with BMR – it is all one network for now.

    Thanks for stopping by

    - Mike

  • I just got an email saying that BMR is closed to new users.

  • Hi Avi,

Yes it is currently closed. We’re not sure for how long. What we’d recommend in the meantime is Linkvana.

When we find out BMR is open again or have more news, we’ll post it…

    Hope that helps…

    -Troy

  • BMR leaves huge footprints.
Cant trust them, really. Still running form the same seo servers without reverse proxy aka nginx neither implementing mod_proxy via apache.
This is the reason it only works for 50 posts and suddenly, it is like is not working and you need other services and tools.
They have good ideas, good stuff, good support team but in the end, it is like they stopped reading (the flow of knowledge) and started only a link scheme game.

  • Hello John,

Please, do not make me laugh ok? BMR had nothing to do with this. BMR is still a good network and a choice it just leaves footprints. It is not like AutomatedLinksOnTap where they have about us pages different on each domain and so on.

That guy on the Warrior Forum along with almost all the warrior forum guys are a banch of newbies where they waste their money daily on wso’s because they think they will make money. And because they are fools too and have a self-ego when they buy a crap they say “OMG what an amazing product”.

    Cheers to newbs? LOL

  • @john – if you read that thread it shows that guys problems had nothing to do with BMR. BMR is still our #1 choice for linkbuilding and actually the safest bet for Panda 3.3 if done correctly with lots of variation.

    - Mike

  • Mike,

Actually, i would say the #1 reccomended lb solution could be ALOT for the reasons i mentioned. Not because it is your service you cannot reccomend it.

Fellas, i would highly reccomend #1 ALOT for main keyword phrases and BMR for Secondary keyword phrases. How can i say it.. it worked extremly well for me.

  • Jolen – I don’t recognize your email in our system as being a subscriber to ALOT or any of our services? I dont even see your email in our Database for anything at all. But if you really are, thanks for the recommend.

    - Mike

  • Love the ability to get great quality links and control my anchor text usage. BMR is one of my top tools.

  • Admin i wouldn’t criticize services with my real account. I am a coward :D haha.
But i am telling the truth. I just want to help people by letting them know the truth so they dont “waste” money like i did in the past.

  • I am using BMR and SuperFastLink Building service for my 10 year old ecommerce site. But after using both service My Site was PENALIZED and Lost Ranking for TOP keywords which we ranking for years!

  • Hey Mike,

It looks like the whole BMR network was nuked this morning by Google. All sites have been deindexed.

    Avi

  • just now I checked all buildmyrank posts and no one is indexed by google. I think google just deindexed all the network. anyone else had the same results?

  • Looks like BMR is no more! Google has deindexed most of there network and many peoples rankings would have gone with it!

  • Yup – it’s true – BMR is history. Very sad indeed.

  • Yeah, we should probably vote this off of the front page. Too bad such a great network was deindexed. On to the next adventure!

  • For everyone asking – LV is still doing well..
    http://articlesubmissionreview.com/blog-network/linkvana-review

  • Dear Mike, Troy,
I have watched your post panda course, watched the webinar. And now I am confused. It seemed that BMR is ok, but now it is gone. So what now? What about other networks? Would be really great to hear from you what will happen next, what link building techniques will work?
    Thanks, Olga

  • Hi Olga…

Well, yes… BMR was “ok” and, yes, now it’s “gone”… The world of SEO is a fluid and is always changing. The best way to keep up with us is to keep up with our weekly webinars where we are always answering questions and keeping you up to date on the latest and greatest…

  • I don’t think you can trust any ‘artifical’ method of back linking now, not unless you want to risk your site and your business.
