When it comes to automatic article submission, Article Marketing Robot does a great job. The old king of the hill was Automatic Article Submitter, but it is quickly been surpassed by Vince Severson’s Article Marketing Robot as well as our favorite Article Demon as the latest and greatest submitters out there. There are several reasons for that and we’ll dive into them below.
If you want to have high distribution percentages then you need to spin your articles. Now, we’re pragmatic about article spinning – not fanatics. The fact is that most sites pretty much force you to spin your content because they only accept unique content and other networks like My Article Network, for example, pretty much require that you send spun content. Well, you don’t have to, but they give publishers the ability to automatically exclude non-spun or poorly spun content, so that pretty much forces your hand. The fact is, however, that there are couple of other great reasons to spin your content. For one, you can vary the title of your article to target different keywords. Many of the sites will use the title to create the URL for publication and so having that keyword in there is a good thing. Furthermore spinning allows you to spin the anchor text for your links as well and that is just plain smart. You want to mix up the anchor text a bit and using article spinning is a great way to do it.
Article Marketing Robot has a fully integrated article spinner that does a good job. Now, we’re pretty biased here when it comes to article spinning and we primarily use The Best Spinner, so to be honest we didn’t do a lot of evaluation of the spinning capabilities of AMR. For us, we will just paste in already spun content from TBS, but for those that don’t have TBS, this can certainly do in a pinch. The thing is, AMR is a submitter – that’s what it does best. Sure, it has a spinning capability, but that’s really not it’s strong suit.
How It Works
Getting up and going with AMR is really a snap. The first thing you need to do is create an author pen name and setup an associated mail account for that author. This is basic stuff and quite easy. By the way, you can setup as many different pen names as you want, so lots of flexibility here. Article Marketing Robot has the ability to work with Gmail type accounts or your own domain email accounts via POP. This is a great feature because many of the article directories prefer (or require) that you not use a freebie email account. Once you enter the basics for the pen name setup and email setup, you’re ready for the next step.
The next step involves uploading the article that you wish to publish. Now, you can do the spinning within AMR if you want, but we just paste in pre-spun content that is ready to go. There’s really not much to this step – about as straightforward as it can be. You enter the title, the description, the body of the article and the resource box – that’s all there is to it.
Before you can submit, you have to get the accounts setup for your newly created pen name. On our install there were over 4200+ directories that you could submit to. Of course, that number is always a bit lower in practicality because there are lots of them that don’t accept you for one reason or another or perhaps are no longer working, etc… but still, we were very impressed by the large number of supported sites. Creating all of these accounts can take a lot of time, so make sure you plan for it. Our advice is to do it in batches of about 500 at a time. Now, many of these sites have captchas and you’ll either have to enter them manually or purchase a decaptcher account (our recommendation). The fact is that it’s just too time consuming to sit there and type in the captchas and mind-numbing as well!
Article Marketing Robot does a very good job of really streamlining the account creation and registration process – it even can handle the account confirmations for you. It will read your email and then confirm the accounts automatically for you – this is very, very sweet. Now most of the submitters do this, but we were impressed by how well it worked with AMR. It was very straightforward and simple.
Lastly, you simply select the sites you wish to submit to and submit away. Now, there are a couple of nice features here as well. For one, you can filter the sites by PageRank or by Health (their calculation of how reliable the site is). Personally, we don’t worry about that, we just send them everywhere knowing that only a percentage are going to “make” it anyway. But the filtering is still a nice feature.
Another more important feature is that you can schedule your submissions rather than being forced to just “blast” them all at once. So when you go to submit them you are given the choice of blasting them all or doing x per day. This can really be a nice way to automate the article submission process. However, this tool is a desktop tool and will have to be up and running in order to process these scheduled jobs – don’t forget that.
One other nice feature is the ability to publish content to your own WordPress sites. So, if you have a little network of sites, you can set them up inside of Article Marketing Robot and submit to them as well. This works very slick and is super easy to configure. Simply add your site url, the account and the password – that’s it, you’re ready to go.
One of the best features that Article Marketing Robot offers is its ability to extract the links for your submissions. You can generate a full report of the URLs that were published – this is great. Most article submitters just blast away and you really have no idea what was accepted, or where the article resides, etc… This makes it easy for you to get a report of the published URLs and make sure that they get indexed as well (or throw them into whatever indexing solution you are using – Backlinks Booster or Backlinks Energizer for example).
The bottom line is that Article Marketing Robot along with Article Demon is one of the top submitters out there right now. We’ve used dozens of submitters and currently rank this at the top of the pile by far. The speed at which it handles the account creation and confirmation alone is worth the price. When you throw in all of the extras like captcha solving and being able to extract the publication URLs, you really have a first class tool.
The very large network is also a welcome feature. As we said, with our test version of 126.96.36.199, we had more than 4200 sites to submit to. This gives you a lot of bang for your buck and a lot of sites to get your content on. Some of the competitors offer a very low 400 or 500 sites in comparison, so AMR should be praised for its generously large network
What We Don’t Like About Article Marketing Robot
Article Marketing Robot is an application that runs on your desktop computer. You must download and install it. Now, we prefer online hosted solutions to desktop applications, but that is just our personal preference. We don’t like having to deal with updates or switching pc’s, etc… and then there is always the inevitable mac or pc issues. On top of this, the scheduling, while it is a great feature in theory, in practice it’s a bit of a pain in the neck because you have to remember to always have AMR running, etc…
When it comes to functionality Article Marketing Robot is a great little tool, but the interface is pretty poor. It’s just clumsy and archaic and it takes some time before you can understand the flow of the submission process via the interface. Many things just aren’t intuitive and it takes some sweat and tears to get used to it. We also had a few problems with system crashes on Windows 7 using version 188.8.131.52 of AMR. Therefore, while we loved Article marketing Robot and its huge list of sites to submit to, we like Article Demon better with a much more user friendly interface but a smaller list of sites.
Article Marketing Robot is quite reasonable at just $97, and in my opinion worth much more than that. What you’ve got to realize is that this is a one-time purchase and you will recoup your investment for many months to come. Now, while we’d prefer if it were somehow a hosted solution, we definitely prefer the one-time purchase as opposed to the monthly fees. If you compare it to the hosted networks, they range from $47 to $67 a month, so the $97 is already saving you money in month two.
